From, Inside the Watchman's Firewall:
I have crossed many checkpoints. They are normally manned by the National Guard or law enforcement to restrict access to areas of major devastation. This is done to allow search and rescue operations to be conducted without interference, to protect individuals from imminent hazards and to keep out the looters.
As our country continues in a series of cascading events that takes us downward into the bottomless financial abyss, you might ask where are we in reference to this time of unbelievable suffering that is to come to America. We are at a checkpoint; a place for analysis and consideration of our remaining options as individuals, communities and as a nation. This nation is functionally bankrupt and there are many who lack the wisdom to perceive or acknowledge the consequence of where we are as a nation. Some will refuse to see God’s correction and judgment at work, along with the need for repentance for the extravagance of living beyond our means and for our prayerlessness. The Bible is a book about self sacrifice, not self indulgence. God will validate those He chooses but it is never expressed in luxurious Rolls Royce living or the follies of man. America is at a checkpoint for judgment.
Individually there are many checkpoints to consider. While there is still a limited amount of time to hear the heart of God, have you made some arrangements and provision for the sufferings to come?
Checkpoint for downsizing and getting as small as you can in your lifestyle will allow you to live below your means which will make it easier to have discretionary income and cash set aside for the days ahead.
Checkpoint for the Ready Pack, do you have the equipment for survival without the amenities of life? In the absence of modern day electricity, clean water, sanitation and grocery stores, you will need a comprehensive survival plan. I cannot recommend waiting on any bureaucracy to meet your needs.
A checkpoint I once visited was what appeared to be a bombed out WWII city. It was strewn with the devastated ruins of great edifices now covered in grey dust and debris. It was a sickening wasteland surrounded by a dense jungle. Walking through it, I could see an elderly couple in the distance standing up out of the broken-down walls. As I approached, they were smiling and their demeanor seemed friendly. Suddenly, I stopped and listened as I could hear the crunching of vegetation.
I looked and could see what appeared to be nomadic wanderers emerging from the dense jungle. They brought with them mighty weapons of war. The Nomadics approached the elderly couple and asked, “Where are we?” The couple replied, “You are at the Ministry of Ruins.” It was the remains of the modern day prosperity, Laodicean Church. The Nomadics replied, “We have been wandering in the jungle for a long time. We found these weapons but we don’t know how to use them.” The elderly couple with their shining silver hair replied, “We’ve been waiting for you.”
You could hear the vegetation crunching under the tank treads. The elderly couple displayed a baton and waited as the army settled into formation. With a single wave of the baton, a salvo of war was unleashed. Orchestrating ever so carefully, salvo after salvo of warfare bombarded the heavenlies and finally the veil that hid the knowledge of Jesus Christ was destroyed and His glory was revealed. Then, with the sound of a trumpet and a flash of light, they all disappeared.
These scenes still haunt me. Maybe you too have been to this checkpoint. If not, I hope to meet you there soon.
Since 2002, Steve has been warning our nation that it will again enter into another Great Civil War and that it will be one of Lawlessness vs Civil Order.
