Consider that in our society we have been programmed for no defense. That is to say, the consequences of protecting yourself are legally too dangerous. The wrath of law enforcement, the courts and civil law suits make the thought of using a weapon in self defense border on lunacy. Therefore, for some, the idea of owning, carrying, and using weapons is not even a consideration. For others, it is a way of life. Whichever school of thought you subscribe to, you can find plenty of support in the literature for either perspective. For that matter just pick up a newspaper or periodical and you will find ample fuel for your opinion on this very sensitive issue.
In times past, I participated in a search by a combined law enforcement strike force looking for the remains of a missing woman. We received a briefing from the different departments of law enforcement and it was explained that we have always had predators in our society. The session that made my hair stand on end was when the federal branch gave its description of this generation of criminal minds as, “super predators.” This made me keenly aware of the fact that today we are dealing with a demonically driven generation of predators that are being supernaturally empowered to kill, steal and destroy (2 Tim 3:1-5). What are your plans to safeguard your home, family and resources?
Consider how you might fare in a time of civil unrest or civil disorder with anarchy raging in the streets. That is why you must have your situational awareness finely tuned to the fact that the predators of our society would quickly use chaos to accomplish their own selfish agenda. Along with this comes the understanding that having a weapon by no means guarantees a positive outcome. These are areas that require a serious commitment to higher levels of training.
A predator will normally use more force than necessary to fulfill their agenda. They rarely act alone and have the advantage of knowing what they are doing while you may be in a state of denial. As the intended victim, you are already at a major disadvantage because you are not an expert, unlike the professional criminal. In a crisis situation you will have a limited time with limited options to respond. Predators train routinely making their criminal way of life an everyday experience. This is the biggest advantage they have because they know the honest working citizen doesn’t train to deal with them. As lawlessness increases we must look to the Holy Spirit for guidance but not forsake common sense truth. Now is the time to begin your journey into Profiles in Self Defense.
From, Inside the Watchman's Firewall:
I have crossed many checkpoints. They are normally manned by the National Guard or law enforcement to restrict access to areas of major devastation. This is done to allow search and rescue operations to be conducted without interference, to protect individuals from imminent hazards and to keep out the looters.
As our country continues in a series of cascading events that takes us downward into the bottomless financial abyss, you might ask where are we in reference to this time of unbelievable suffering that is to come to America. We are at a checkpoint; a place for analysis and consideration of our remaining options as individuals, communities and as a nation. This nation is functionally bankrupt and there are many who lack the wisdom to perceive or acknowledge the consequence of where we are as a nation. Some will refuse to see God’s correction and judgment at work, along with the need for repentance for the extravagance of living beyond our means and for our prayerlessness. The Bible is a book about self sacrifice, not self indulgence. God will validate those He chooses but it is never expressed in luxurious Rolls Royce living or the follies of man. America is at a checkpoint for judgment.
Individually there are many checkpoints to consider. While there is still a limited amount of time to hear the heart of God, have you made some arrangements and provision for the sufferings to come?
Checkpoint for downsizing and getting as small as you can in your lifestyle will allow you to live below your means which will make it easier to have discretionary income and cash set aside for the days ahead.
Checkpoint for the Ready Pack, do you have the equipment for survival without the amenities of life? In the absence of modern day electricity, clean water, sanitation and grocery stores, you will need a comprehensive survival plan. I cannot recommend waiting on any bureaucracy to meet your needs.
A checkpoint I once visited was what appeared to be a bombed out WWII city. It was strewn with the devastated ruins of great edifices now covered in grey dust and debris. It was a sickening wasteland surrounded by a dense jungle. Walking through it, I could see an elderly couple in the distance standing up out of the broken-down walls. As I approached, they were smiling and their demeanor seemed friendly. Suddenly, I stopped and listened as I could hear the crunching of vegetation.
I looked and could see what appeared to be nomadic wanderers emerging from the dense jungle. They brought with them mighty weapons of war. The Nomadics approached the elderly couple and asked, “Where are we?” The couple replied, “You are at the Ministry of Ruins.” It was the remains of the modern day prosperity, Laodicean Church. The Nomadics replied, “We have been wandering in the jungle for a long time. We found these weapons but we don’t know how to use them.” The elderly couple with their shining silver hair replied, “We’ve been waiting for you.”
You could hear the vegetation crunching under the tank treads. The elderly couple displayed a baton and waited as the army settled into formation. With a single wave of the baton, a salvo of war was unleashed. Orchestrating ever so carefully, salvo after salvo of warfare bombarded the heavenlies and finally the veil that hid the knowledge of Jesus Christ was destroyed and His glory was revealed. Then, with the sound of a trumpet and a flash of light, they all disappeared.
These scenes still haunt me. Maybe you too have been to this checkpoint. If not, I hope to meet you there soon.
What you may consider the least thing you can do, may be the most God expects you to do. Many of us are trapped in upside down mortgages and jobs with diminishing resources. We have never advocated abandoning where you are in life and retreating to a fortified bunker stocked with five years of supplies that would enable you to endure all hazards. Very few of us can consider such ostentatious arrangements. What we have suggested is a minimalist approach. That is to say, if all you can put away for an MRE (Meal Ready to Eat) is a can of pork & beans, then do it. Just like the lad in the Bible that had five barley loaves and two small fishes to share, this small step, mixed with faith, can bring the maximum results to get you ready. I am not implying that the can of beans will bring a miracle, but if that is the only thing you can do, God can add to it. Your actions should never be fear based. Have faith for the smallest thing and God will build on it. Whatever your measure of faith may be, use it. Take the simple step that you are able to take and God will add to it. However, he does require your active participation as revealed in, faith without works is dead. Now have faith for that smallest thing and God will do His part.
Every day is a training day, even Christmas. This is revealed in the scriptures vividly as Herod slaughtered the newborns in an attempt to kill the prophesied redeemer of Israel and Joseph was warned to use an avenue of egress and flee to Egypt. Just so, around the world we have elements of hatred toward our nation that would and have slaughtered us. However, there are those who stand watch over us, the armed forces of our nation, our military men and women who continue to say, "Not on my watch."
Therefore, I speak to you Bravehearts wherever you are; this day you are not forgotten. There stands watch over you in the Heavenlies; guardian warriors and they never slumber nor do they sleep. Some of you may be struck down but rest assured your heritage is eternally remembered in the spirit realm of our Heavenly Father. No greater love hath a man than to lay down his life for his brother...thank you and Merry Christmas wherever you are.
Downsizing is one of the most important components of Readiness Living and a foundation for preparedness. None of us want to consider parting with the conveniences that make life easy and we have taken years to acquire our treasures of jewelry, antiques, boats, time share condos and numerous other luxuries. Deep inside though, many are sensing a warning that it is time to make some changes in our lifestyle. Since 2000, we have been urging people to get as small as they can, not as small as we have. Many are now being forced to downsize due to foreclosures and loss of employment caused by economic conditions. Its a journey not an event. In our journey over the years, God has taken us on the narrow path from Room Service to the Wilderness Buffet.
Much of what hinders us is not sinful but rather distracting and time consuming. In the days ahead we will need every spiritual advantage that is available to us. As the fires of adversity increase in this day, our dependence on the world and the things in it will have to diminish. Our dependence on divine intervention will have to increase.
I want to encourage you to make choices while you can and prepare for a time of, “Unbelievable suffering in America.”
From, Inside the Watchman's Firewall:
It is time for you to steel yourself to the events that will soon take some of your lives. Some of you will be taken suddenly; others will barely escape, only to narrowly escape again. It is your time, the hidden generation, God’s secret service, the nameless and faceless. You have been hidden from the domains of darkness, but I have seen your rising this day. You may look in the mirror at an overweight, feeble and frail, aged body but your spirit man rises. I have seen your rising as a warrior emerging from over a hill, running to battle with the sun at your back blinding your enemy. You carry a great sword upon your back, a war club in one hand and a battle-axe in the other. The enemy does not recognize you but a flaming fire goes before you, scorching the very ground he stands upon and the enemy trembles at your waking.
Your existence will be like a blazing comet moving across the sky in the darkness of night. The heavens will open because you have not wrestled against flesh and blood but fought in the heavenlies against spiritual powers, principalities and the rulers of darkness in the ways of nomadic intercessors. Even though you are struck down and all hope seems lost, your heritage will emerge more powerful than the enemy can ever imagine. The knowledge of Jesus shall fill the earth one more time and in the darkest hour man has ever known to date, many shall be saved.
Narrative: The remnant is an undefined church and many times unaware of its own existence. I might add that, where the physical church has retreated from the fight, what I have seen will never retreat and they take no care for their lives. A shield is defensive in nature but these carry none. There is a last days anointing upon these that have separated themselves from the church dynasty, the church franchise and the church of commercial enterprising. They have been prepared for this anointing because they won’t sell it or trade it for worldly fame or riches. Even though some will be struck down, because of their willingness to lay down their lives, their heritage will emerge through powerful, spontaneous manifestations of God that no man will glory in.
It has been written that the first shots of any war are fired with bullets but the last shots are fired with grain. The meaning of this statement is simple in that it is much easier to kill your enemy through starvation than with bullets. The religious fanatics, warlords and political tyrants are very much aware of these tactics and live by them. Why waste bullets when it is much simpler to deprive human beings of the very basic element of the food chain, grains, formerly known as the staff of life. Grain is the basis of all human life. A freshly milled, 100 % whole grain loaf of bread is the only perfect food known to man. Jesus said, "I am the Bread of Life." He was saying that there is only one perfect spiritual answer to eternal life and that is accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. I would venture to say that 99% of Americans have never tasted a freshly milled, 100% whole grain loaf of bread nor do they have any idea how to take grain and produce a loaf of bread or sprout it for salads or cook it into a porridge or make it the basis of a wonderful granola (cereal). Without grain all human life would cease to exist. The importance of grain can be seen in Revelation 6:6, where it is used as a timeless economic barometer indicating the desperation in the last days. It states that it will take a full day's wages to buy what was known as a slave's daily food ration, which was minimal existence, just enough grain to make one loaf of bread.
Consider the importance of having a store of whole grains properly sealed, for a time of extended crisis. Equally as important is having the skill and knowledge to use those whole grains. It should become a life style for you, not an occasional experience. These kinds of skills will save you untold amounts of money and the health benefits cannot be measured. The cost-benefit ratio will depend on your family size and your lifestyle in eating out. In addition, grains when properly stored have a 30 year or longer shelf life.
Since 2002, Steve has been warning our nation that it will again enter into another Great Civil War and that it will be one of Lawlessness vs Civil Order.
